Hello!

Hello, y'all!  I am Bianka. I am currently 21 years-old, and am a full-time student at the University of North Texas. I am majoring in medical lab sciences and minoring in psychology. During my time off from school and work, I enjoy creating new dishes, such as bread, desserts, and even full-course meals! However, I also love the aspect of nutrition.  I created this blog in order to share recipes with you guys, as well as to learn from the world. It's so nice meeting y'all! - Bianka :)

Chocolate Chip Swirl Cookies

Hello to you all! Today I will be sharing my chocolate chip swirl cookies recipe! They are a simple, easy treat that is fluffy inside and crunchy on the bottom, with a soft top. Chocolate Chip Swirl Cookies Yields around 30 cookies 3 cups flour Pinch of salt 1 tsp baking soda 1 cup powdered sugar 2/3 cup light brown sugar 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips 1 cup white chocolate chips 1/4 cup butter, melted 2 eggs 1 tbsp vanilla extract ~ 1/4 cup water Grease your pans and heat up the oven to 350 F. In a large bowl, combine all wet and dry ingredients. Only incorporate 1 cup of the semi-sweet chocolate, and leave the rest of both chocolates out of the mix. Mix until well combined into a thick dough. Next, with a spoon or scooper, scoop out the dough and place them in the pan (4x3). Bake for around 12 minutes or until golden brown. While your cookies cool, melt the white and semi-sweet chocolates in separate cups/bowls.  When your cookies are cooled, dip one-half int...

Breakfast Arabic Flatbread: A Journey

Hello everyone, and good morning! This lovely morning I decided to make an Arabic flatbread (I don't remember the name) which is made pan-fried. However, I wanted it to be my recipe rather than the Tik Toker's recipe, so I put a little twist. Arabic Flatbread 1 cup flour 1/4 cup water Pinch of salt and sugar 2 tbsp butter (the twist) In a small cup, melt your butter for about thirty seconds. Then, add all your ingredients in a bowl. Mix all together until a dough forms. It'll be kind of sticky, so add more flour if needed, about a tablespoon.  Next, flatten it as much as physically possible without ripping it apart. Put on a pan with oil or butter and pan fry it on medium until golden brown on each side. Serve with honey and typical mint tea, or your choice of beverage and enjoy!

Iced Hibiscus Latte

Hello you guys! You want a drink. Water? Too boring. Juice? Too processed. Okay, you're left with coffee- either you can't tolerate (or don't want) any caffeine at the moment. What's left? Tea! Tea? Tea! Yes, how about an iced hibiscus latte with honey cold foam? Iced Hibiscus Latte 2 hibiscus tea bags 2 tsp sugar OR 3 packets stevia 1/2 cup choice of milk (I use vanilla soy milk) 1/4 cup heavy whipping cream (or cream of choice, you can also use coconut or even hazelnut cream) 2 tbsp honey 1 tsp vanilla extract In a mason jar, pour boiling water halfway. Then, add in tea bags and let steep for about five minutes. While your tea steeps and cools down, make the honey cold foam. In a bowl, add your cream, honey, and vanilla extract. Whipp by hand or with a mixer until extra thick. Add in ice to the mason jar until it's 1/4th full, and mix to cool down more. Then, add in your sugar and milk of choice, then mix again. Slowly pour in your cold foam on top. Ad...

Outdoor Dining in New York

According to a source, New York has updated their rules after the COVID-19 pandemic regarding outside dining. No, I'm not talking about not being able to eat at fast foods only, I mean dining in the exterior part of restaurants in general. New York was basically a hot spot for COVID during the pandemic, therefore dining outside was not an option, as it would mean people were exposed to the disease. While COVID is still here, it is way less impactful (sort of) than it was. It's still the same disease, yet there are more available spots at hospitals for treatment. Should they have let this happen? Let me know down in the comments.

Saikoy Sushi & Ramen: Food Review

Saikoy Sushi & Ramen: Food Review Hello again! So, also on Sunday, I went to this amazing ramen place in Tehama Ridge, TX. It was amazing! It was my first time trying authentic ramen. The place was small but cozy. Also, the kitchen looked quite original; we could see part of it from our seats. I ordered one of the shiou ramen, but I can't quite remember. I do remember it had a white, silky-smooth broth. My friend and I had to take our meal to go as we were in a rush; we ended up having an inside picnic. It was delicious and fun. I also got the takoyaki. It was soft and flavorful. It was also quite spongy; I thought Takoyaki was supposed to be chewy. It had a sauce I don't know about, but it was so good. 10/10 on the takoyaki. Now, as for my ramen, it was also so delicious. It had tea eggs, corn, bamboo shoots, and spring onion. The broth was smooth and rich. Sadly, I think it had some kind of dairy, as it triggered my IBS a bit. Now, I won't ded...

Sweet Potato Air Fryer Fries

Something sweet, something filling, and now something savory.  I present to you guys, sweet potato air fryer fries! They are simple and easy to make! Although the name says they are for the air fryer, you can also pan fry or even bake them if you prefer that- or if you don't have an air fryer. This appetizer is a healthy, gluten-free, vegan option you can serve beside other dishes or even eat them alone as they are! Sweet Potato Air Fryer Fries 1 sweet potato 2 tbsp oil of choice 1 tbsp garlic powder 1 tsp onion powder 1 tsp oregano 2 tsp salt 1 tsp black pepper (optional: red chili flakes for some spice!) Wash and peel (if wanted) your sweet potato into quarter-inch-sized slices. In a bowl, mix in the potatoes and oil. Add your seasonings and mix well with hands, making sure the seasonings stay on the fries. Next, air fry them for about 15 minutes. Serve hot as is or with other dishes and enjoy!
